Webkinz trading cards are items you can buy in the real world to play with your friends.  With Webkinz Trading Cards, just like other cards you have, you can play games together, or, you can try and collect them all, like trading cards.  But they’re even better.

Each package of Webkinz Trading Cards comes with five trading cards and one feature code card for about $3.  The five trading cards could be any one (or more) of base cards, challenge cards, or special collectible cards.  For example, the first series of Trading Cards came out in 2007, and featured 111 cards, 80 Base cards (10 of which are action cards), 15 challenge cards, and 24 collectible cards — 8 curiosities cards, 8 Curio Shop Cards, and 8 Webkinz Doodlez cards.

Base cards are the cards you use to play games, and features pictures of Webkinz animals, Webkinz food, Arcade games, Recipes and People in the game as well.

Action cards are cards that lets you do things when its your turn.  There are only 10 of these in the entire series (and are considered part of the Base card set by some), and they allow you to do special things like putting a card into your hand from the discard pile.

Challenge Cards show the challenges that you need to do to win the game.  To win you must finish four of them.

The other cards, like Curiosities, Curio Shop cards, and Webkinz Doodlez, are not meant to be played with, and are for collecting purposes only.

To play with your Webkinz Trading Cards, you have to download a Challenge board over here: www.webkinz.com/TCG_downloads.html.  You can go and read the instructions, but basically for two people you need 50 base cards, and 7 challenge cards, each forming one deck.  Each person gets five cards from the base deck.  The dealer puts down the top three cards from the Challenge Card deck so that everyone can complete them.

Now, alternating turns, each player can either pick up a card, discard a card — but pick up two more, complete an action card or complete a challenge.

When a player has won 4 challenges, the game has been won.

I think one of the best parts about Webkinz Trading Cards is that you can use them online in Webkinz World as well.  How?  Well, out of the six cards you get with each pack, one is always a feature code card.  This card has one — and sometimes more — codes you can enter in Webkinz World for more KinzCash, prizes, items, and if you’re really lucky, even a new Webkinz Online Pet.
